I spent some time with my dad today at his shop welding the Simplicator's front axle and suspension together. total cost of the Simplicator is US$93 so far.
video clip of one of my oscillating "steam" (really compressed air) engines . It would only run for a few seconds before exhausting my tiny aircompressor. I made it from 3/4 inch (1.5 cm) plastic PVC pipe, plexiglass, and a few odds and ends from the hardware store.
Well , this last weekend I started my second steam car. The last one was about 5 years ago. This one is inspired by a design made by Richard J. Smith and Karl Petersen back in the 1960's called the "Educator". I got the woodwork for the body done tonight in a about 8.25 hours of total work over 3 evenings. I am not a machinist. I do have skills in woodworking, plumbing, welding, and drafting. So I will be doing alot of adaptation to make it.
